DSCC Buying Time in Connecticut Senate Race

With polls showing the race tightening and Democratic Senate nominee Richard Blumenthal slipping to or under the 50% mark in his contest against Linda McMahon (R), the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is buying time in Connecticut, according to a reliable political source.

Democrats once hoped that Attorney General Blumenthal’s initial popularity in such a blue state would allow them to use their resources elsewhere, but recent developments in that contest have apparently forced the DSCC to spend in the state.

Of course, that can’t be good news for other Democratic Senate candidates who are counting on DSCC support. With McMahon having her own resources, the NRSC isn’t likely to spend dollars in the Nutmeg State.
